The
workshop aims to provide working knowledge on the computational
methods for junction geometrical analysis, public transport
priority scheme analysis, and analysis of traffic signaling systems
and traffic density. Participants will learn to design realistic
models of road usage; to evaluate and plan urban, extra-urban
transport infrastructure; and all necessary tools, techniques used
for transportation engineering.

participants a unique opportunity to practically experience various
kinds of transportation modes.
Understanding of the
interpretation of investigated transportation data to design the
signalized intersections.

This workshop is
split into 2 modules:
Lecture: Participants
would be taught various concepts and techniques involved in
Transportation Engineering
Course Content:
Introduction to transportation engineering, history and modes of
transportation
Pavements Design ,Types of pavements , Materials and
characterization
Analysis and design of flexible pavements
Traffic Engineering
Fundamental parameters of traffic flow
Various types of traffic facilities
Phase design
Case studies on existing transportation methods used in engineering
construction
Practical session:
This involves a project where Simulation software is used to create
different traffic scenarios
Design and evaluation of traffic signal using theoretical approach
on Phase Design
Customized use of traffic related problems
This is followed by a Discussion about implementation of the
knowledge gained to develop good Projects
